According to my son who thinks he is a shortbread connoisseur, Delia's shortbread is as close to shortbread perfection as any shortbread can get-praise indeed!

..or may be it's your magic touch DQ?.......I love shortbread and one of my most popular puds is Apple Shorbread, served warm with a big dollop of cream.

I agree with that DQ.

THD Apple shortbread sounds good. do you use a particular recipe or is it just shortbread and stewed apple?

You don't even have to stew the apple! Just bung a bit less than half of the mixture in the cake tin, slice bramleys on top, sprinkle witha bit of sugar but I often forget, then bung the rest of the mixture on top - in the oven it goes - hey ho!

DQ I agree with your son. Delia's version is the best shortbread I've ever made. It's the semolina

Apple sounds good, Dinner Service. Will have to try that version, thanks for that.
My son won't like it-he will only eat it straight. Not even chocolate covered.
