Following the success of its Christmas Countdown and Valentine’s paid-for-content, Delia Online has just launched ‘Cooking for One’ – a new section of the site accessed via a paid-for subscription. Based on Delia Smith’s successful book, One is Fun, published in 1985, Delia Online has revisited 40 of the most popular recipes from this book and presented them in the clean, simple, easy-to-use format that has become the trademark of this award-winning website.

With almost 8 million people living on their own in Britain, this collection offers a valuable resource for an international audience, reflecting today’s tastes and ingredients. ‘Cooking for One’ can be purchased for £4.95 from anywhere in the world using BT Click and Buy on the site, and shows how with little effort and some canny shopping you can prepare quick, easy meals for a single serving without having to spend a fortune on unwanted food. As well as the 40 recipes, the package offers tips on shopping for one, essentials for your storecupboard and a section on equipment. There is also collection of existing recipes from the site that serve one or two – useful for when friends drop in.

Delia Online (www.deliaonline.com), Delia Smith’s website launched in March 2001 and offers a comprehensive source of ideas and inspiration based on 30 years of Delia Smith’s work in food and cookery. The audience tends to encompass a younger demographic than Delia’s traditional book and television audiences, thus bringing Delia’s work to an extended audience.
