Recipe of the Day Friday 21 November
These are little fingers made with cheese and semolina, then baked in the oven with butter. Simple, inexpensive but really good. They can be served with a fresh tomato sauce, but I don't think they need it.

As you may know, Delia’s on Terry Wogan’s BBC radio 2 programme this morning at 8.40am, telling him about her latest discovery: that even if you indulge in your favourite Christmas recipes, you’ll be saving money by making them yourself! And many festive favourites are actually pretty economical to make: Delia’s melt-in-the-mouth sausage rolls with sage and onion, for example, cost a paltry 10p each…

Delia will be unveiling two frugal menus – the only frugal thing about them being the cost: the first one is Buckwheat Blinis with Smoked Salmon, Crème Fraiche and Dill, a new recipe for Pot-roast Turkey Drumsticks with Port and Chestnuts, Roast Potatoes, Button Sprouts, roast parsnips, Christmas Pudding Jellies With Cider Syllabub and Traditional Mince Pies costs £29.22 for six (a mere £4.87) per person, while the second menu is similarly mouthwatering.
Delia has also costed some of your favourite Christmas recipes, including Classic Christmas Cake, Turkey Feuilletes, Traditional Raspberry Trifle and Celery Soup with Blue Cheese – with surprising results. So, recession or not, don’t cancel Christmas!
