Please can anyone suggest good places to eat/visit near Rouen? We are staying just a few miles south for a few days at the end of this month.
Hi Mary, Rouen is a lovely place to visit-lots of history there including the statue of Joan of Arc, where she was burnt at the stake. If you're into gardens, Giverny (Monet's garden) is a must. Don't visit Chez Paul's Brasserie though as when we went there it was an absolute rip off and probably the only restaurant in France where we haven't enjoyed the meal.
Have a wonderful time.

Just as a matter of interest but you probably won't want to visit there, my grandfather is buried there in one of the many World War 1 cemeteries. He died at the very end of the war of influenza, which you may know killed thousands in that great war. My parents visited there some years ago but as yet I haven't, but would like to.
