Just like to recommend The Hideaway, a restaurant with rooms, just about 5 minutes walk form Windermere town. We stayed ther this last weekend and were very impressed with the dinners we had there, excellent cooking , in my opinion. It is run by a young couple who have been there just 4 years, she is front of house while he does the cooking with help. The rooms are comfortable,quite good value, not all have been refurbished yet but are still clean and well furnished. the food is well worth visiting for , they do meals without rooms if you are in the area but staying somewhere else. I think they deserve recommendation, they are both very pleasant and hard working, credit where it's due, I say!

I've just been on their website - it looks lovely!
Do you want to meet up again for another walk? - and/or coffee?
My pup is a bit better behaved now!

I'll keep this one in mind Nenna. We quite like having at least a night in the Lakes now and again with a good dinner. We used to book into the Borrowdale Hotel, Borrowdale, fairly regularly but it's been taken over by new owners lately and since I haven't tried it yet, don't know if it's worth recommending. The food there was always good but some of the rooms were ready for a facelift - this is possibly happening now.

Hello again, Sheelagh! Yes it would be nice to meet up again but next week we are having a visitor for 2 weeks, my daughter's little Dachshund!!! He is only 12 months old and a bit unpredictable with other dogs, he can be very yappy but also a bit afraid of bigger dogs so I don't know how he'd react to your dog. We will be looking after him while they are on holiday in Florida.
However, I am up for meeting up for a coffee any time so perhaps we can make a date soon, with or without the animals! See you soon, Best regardsX
