Hi you two very clever people!! I have loved reading your exploits re making your own Easter Eggs some good tips too, I am seriously going to think about making some next year, just one question, what type of chocolate did you start off with? And also what percentage of cacoa was in it.?
Great Thread, if you get the thread of the month I suggest you should get one each !!!

Yummy, I just used "ordinary chocolate" what i mean by that is cadburys dairy milk, bournville dark, and tescos "own brand" white chocolate. but i ran out white chocolate, i found in my cupboard some lindt white, for writing names - very badly on the eggs.

You probably could use "posh and expensive" choc, but why, kids and grown up love cadburys.

Thanks Yummy - I think we both had fun doing it! - and honestly - the eggs looked great! (after the first "trial" one).

I just used Sainsbury's own brand and some Cadburys - just ordinary milk chocolate.

My OH wanted a Galaxy one - but for some reason I had problems with melting that successfully - had 2 lots that seized and had to be thrown away. I filled up the insides with homemade little eggs and also some Lindt ones in foil to add some colour and also some little Lindt bunnies cos I though they were sweet! The eggs weighed a ton - much more than shop-bought ones.

I will definitely do it again!
