This is the first summer that I've had a small veggie patch. So far, I've done sugar snap peas, courgettes, toms and baby sweetcorn but these will end soon and I'm wondering what I can grow over winter. So far, I've thought of garlic and pak choi - does anyone have any other suggestions espically as I have a small area - Thank you!
Hi GM
Have a look at this site flowerfarm.co.uk its Fentogollan flower and veg farm and they have small packs of veg ready to plant for Autumn and Winter they are really friendly and helpful, the prices a very reasonable, and get your plants to you you within a couple of days in a bag so if you can't plant then straight away they will last for about a week and free p&p. I've been really pleased with all I have bought. LHxx
Leeks are lovely and get bigger very slowly over the autumn and winter, you can use them when they're small and still have some for winter, you're not waiting for them to mature like peas or caulis. Sprouts are the traditional winter veg, if you like them, and you also still have time to get January King cabbages in.
I like the look of Lucyhan's site above :-)

Yes I do like that site, the Bargain Vegetable collection looks about right for your size of garden. I've put the site on my favourites now :-) You're just in time for planting GM, end of July seens to be about it for outdoors!

Cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, leeks, turnips, swede, parsnips.
The latter 3 improve after really bad frosts, the frost converts the starch to sugar making them so sweet and delicious.
Good luck.
