Re: Someone has stolen my squash

I am so cross. This is the first year that I have grown veg in my back yard. I noticed when i got back from Holiday that I had a lovely butternut squash growing on my plant. I checked it on the weekend and it was almost ready to pick. Went out to pick it this morning and it has gone. Someone has come into my garden and taken it. I am really upset and angry that someone would do this to me.

jools- i have been thinking about your stolen squash- how annoying- when my neighbour was fuming about a mole messing up her garden i put a poster up on the telegraph pole outside her house with a WANTED sign for one destructive mole-( reward was one lemon drizzle cake!). it really made everyone giggle- just wondering if you could do the same for your stolen squash- it might make whoever nicked it think twice next time??! ;-)

Really mean, Jools. Maybe next time instead of going off to sun yourself in some exotic location for a few weeks, you should stay here, in your wellies, and guard your squash!!!

I`ll go on the vacation instead!!

xx

some people have no morals...

i just hope that the person who stole it, was really in need of it, otherwise its mindless, and illegal!

it might be worth while having a chat with your neighbours, similar things may have happened to them, and if that is the case, then, i know this will sound weird, but you must all individually report it to the police, obviously not the 999 number the 0845 something or other 999 number.

a few years ago, the allotments around my area had thieves, and higher fences, and cctv was installed, and they actually caught the people, and convicted them.
