Everybody throws ideas into the hat basically, but the recipe ought to be on this site so we can all copy it.
I'm hoping for the Beef in Barolo that camesecond last month but maybe the rest of us want to alternate and do a sweet course?

Bramble, I've done the beef in Barolo several times, I can well recommend it - give it a go (even if it isn't the next cookalong choice). If your budget can stand it, the "proper" Barolo is worth using too. If the budget won't stand it, as Delia says, use a wine from the same grape -Nabolo (I don't think that's the right spelling but it's something like that.)

Anyone got any further suggestions? Beef in Barolo is in the lead at the moment ...

I wouldn't mind trying the Beef, it came a close second in September. Not sure about getting the wine here though, will have to take the recipe (for the wine region info) have a look in the Supermarkets.

I haven't been able to do September's cookalong yet! I've ordered belly pork with my Tesco order for 3 weeks now and it hasn't arrived. - and it would have been slices rather that an single piece if it had arrived. I don't think this is a case where I could substitute another cut do you?

Me neither Jeni, I have the Belly Pork in the freezer, with visitors and holidays not got round to concentrating on the Hung Shao Pork, will have to do it before Tuesday, feel Guilty as I was the one to suggest it !!! Don't think pieces would have been a problem as you cut it into 1inch cubes for the recipe.

I enjoyed the September pork and really don't mind either of the suggested recipes for October.
Could we do steak and kidney pudding in November ? I need a good reason to make one :0)

I'm happy with the beef in Barolo for October, and would also second Biggles' suggestion for the steak and kidney pudding for November. Retro cooking lives! Members in Australia might not be too happy, though - it's probably rather hot there in November. NG

It seems that it will be Beef in Barolo then. Can't wait to have a go! Happy cooking everyone,
