Can anyone help me, have just got home and have noticed a big white bleach mark on my favourite top and it has to be in a very "prominent" place, if you get my drift, have raided my kids felt pens to see if I can find a match but no luck. Has anyone any suggestions what I can do - other than chucking it. The thing is I have'nt done anything with bleach today!! Am so mad..............

get your self some dylon, and re-dye your top....or designate it for wearing in the gardening or for diy jobs, ie painting, never chuck it away, you could even cut it up for use as car polishing rags, window cleaning rags, and dusters for bannisters and light fittings.

Could you not dye it? Unless of course it's synthetic. if you are going to chuck it anyway, it'll only cost you about a fiver for the dye and the salt. Dead easy in the machine.

Dolly, have submitted some recipes that are already on other profiles, am just trying to cut down my paper mountain of printed recipes. Will check to see if I can untick some of them.

Janjam, if it makes you feel any better, I have ruined several items with bleach! And I never know how I did it!
I rescued a pair of trousers by stitching a little circular patch over the damage, just zig-zagged around and it actually looks OK. But T-shirts end up in the garden-wear pile which is getting steadily bigger!

janjam,
I had a little hole once in the front of a fav t-shirt and sewed a pretty little embroidered flower over it....

Dolly,
Thanks for that idea but my bleach spot is directly over my boob area! Don't want to draw too much attention to that area!! Have ticked some of my recipes so they should be for public use any time soon. One or two of them I have copied from here so feel if I ticked them someone will accuse me of plagerism!! But you all seem very nice people out in Blogland.

Draw a couple of eucalyptus leaves in a toning fabric (use an old t shirt) and start it up at the neckline and the tip just covering the bleach mark, then the eye will be taken up towards the neck and not really focus on the boobs. Small buttons are also in fashion this summer... you could sew a cluster of overlapping buttons... some mother of pearl, some metal, some fabric covered?

I am always getting splattered with bleach (I always seem to be wearing black when it happens!!) and now M knows when I've going to be doing some housework because I'm wearing the bleach splattered t shirt with brown spots on it. I reckon it could look quite good when I have enough of them on it! The safari look. ;o) Just need some amber jewellery and I've cracked it!

I have also ruined loads of Tee's, sweatshirts and jeans with bleach, and even when you know you have got some on your clothes you can never get them off and into water fast enough to stop the colour being "bleached" out.
