Does anyone know how to do cake tin conversions i.e. yesterday I made a recipe with four eggs and had to use a deepish 8 inch round cake tin. As there are now only the two of us, I would have liked to have made the recipe in 2 x one pound loaf tins, but I had no idea if the mixture would go into them! Am I making any sense?
Some help please on this one would be great.

According to my old SWRI book
14" diam for 16lb 12 oz
12" " " 14lb 12 0z
11" " " 11lb
10" " " 9lb
81/2" " " 6lb 10oz
71/2" " " 4lb 120z
7" " " 3lb 13oz
6" " " 2lb 4oz
5" " " 1lb 12oz to 2lb
total amount of ingredients.
So going on that 1lb tin probably 6+6+6 + egg weight? and I'm sure if a square tin is used instead of round you use 1" inch less ie 7" round = 6" square.
Didnt think I would need my maths again, hope this is helpful. I find it a nightmare converting recipes for two so end up freezing the extra.
