Anything exciting planned? We caught a big grey mullet last weekend which is in the freezer - have never eaten or cooked it before but apparently a bit muddy in taste. Thought would start some rosemary roast potatoes, add some chopped red onion, black olives, sundried tomato and fresh tomato after 30 minutes, then 15 minutes after that stick the fish on top for 20 mins, all with lots of olive oild and garlic.
Sam's inspired me to do Delia's American Meatloaf - new one for me. Got to buy a loaf tin though as I don't own one! Could be the start of something big! Just asked a friend to dig out her recipe for Banana Bread!
Also, want to make a Bakewell Tart as inspired by Fondant Fancy but OH away on course next week so won't get eaten. Will probably cook that and banana bread one night next week ready for OH's return! Luv, Loopy XXXX
Have a chilli simmering away nicely at the moment and Delia's Beer Chocolate cake (now cooled and iced). Haven't decided what we're having tomorrow yet but have a couple of lovely lamb shanks for Sunday, planning on doing them long and slow with veg and red wine. No more desserts planned at the moment though.
I'm making the Hung thingy Pork dish tomorrow evening, now full of trepidation. I think I had better read the recipe properly :0)
Tonight it is courgette tart and Sunday will be roast lamb.
If the weather dries we shall be in the garden and if it stays wet we shall continue to unpack boxes and try to sort things out a bit more. Yesterday spent moving furniture about. Biggs
Yes i must have a go at the pork. Reading the recipe I rather think success will depend on using a good bit of the right cut of pork.
Sister coming for dinner tomorrow night. Have to plan carefully what to do as there are so many things she doesn't like. Haven't decided yet.
Tonight we are having a tiny bit of smoked salmon I found in the freezer with some cucumber and sesame seed salad, followed by Flash Fried Moroccan Chicken with Couscous. I had planned to serve it with a plate of sliced oranges topped with black pepper and olive oil but found the oranges yesterday, thought they were spare and ate them. Bit disappointed really as I thought that sounded rather nice and refreshing. Got smelly Brie that needs eating so will have that with some thinly sliced French bread toasted and drizzled with olive oil. The question is will I be able to squeeze in a bit of Ben & Jerry's after that lot? ;-)
I'll certainly post my view. I know I've got the right piece of pork and it looks nice. Thank you RC, just given me a bit of confidence :0) Biggs
Not decided yet. E is cooking Chicken Tikka Masala tonight whilst I get on with the housework. The weekend is mucked up now as S is planning to work Saturday and our "family Sunday" looks like it is disappearing as E's boyfriend has asked her to go to his house to meet his Mum and Dad!!!
I think some cake baking may well be in order... a huge squishy carrot cake is always good for my wellbeing.
Not cooking tomorrow as my sister in law is getting married. Have got my fingers crossed for no rain as my outfit and rather fancy head piece won't stand up to wet weather!
Sunday we are at home and are having Roast Chicken with all the trimmings followed by blackberry crumble
Yummy!

Tequila Lime Chicken today thanks to Morag for letting me have the Ina Garten recipe. Roast Chicken tomorrow.
We've done our housework together so nearly all done and that leaves time for shopping and spiders this afternoon!
We went out for a balti with 3 friends last night, it was delicious. Tonight I'm doing Jamie's poached pheasant and lentil stew with dumplings. There's loads of it, so it will do for Sunday as well.
