We have a tree bursting with lovely Worcester eating apples, more that we can manage so I don't mind the blackbirds having their share, but my husband has just gone out and BOUGHT some Braeburn apples from Tesco's because he prefers them. Honestly! Am I over-reacting here, or would you feel frustrated too?

PS, he says he will eat them in an apple crumble or pie, so guess what we will be having this weekend!
Yep, you are over-reacting!!!

I can understand what you mean. We have an orchard that my father-in-law and his father planted in the 1920s and my husband is so proud when he carries in some apples (if the sheep don't get them first) and do you think our kids will eat them. Not likely - give them supermarket apples any day but not our own!!!!!!!!!!! Maddening for my poor old hubby !! x
Last year my OH grew Navan potatoes, and they were small and soapy. I like fluffly and large, I`m afraid, so I did exactly what your husband did! I still had to cook his piddly little ones for him, and put up with the venom until the crop was exhausted. Don`t divorce him yet, CG, we got through it with some therapy!!
crumbs :-)
We have an apple tree in the garden but the apples are dry and floury (fine in pies or stewed.... I use them for chutneys, Bramble jelly, mint jelly etc), but Ijust don't like them (nor do the girls) for eating so I still buy thw Granny Smiths and Royal Gala for eating.

I'm not usually picky but apples are the one fruit that I really am fussy about. Worcesters do have funny skins CG@H and very mealy. I can't eat an apple unless it is crisp and juicy... Love Pink Lady and Granny Smiths. Sometimes if I can't get either of those I buy other apples and I will take a bite out of it and if I don't like it, my other half has to finish it and eat the rest.
