I've only ever soaked it in cold water for use in Tabbouleh which I'm not a big fan of as the wheat is just too chewy. Last night realised I'd run out of couscous so ended up cooking bulghur wheat and it was really delicious. Needs plenty of seasoning, oil, herbs or whatever but it was so nice with my Flash Fried Moroccan Chicken which was gorgeous, easy peasy and quick. All in all a really nice tea.

Love bulghar, DS, and I always put in chopped cucumber, lemon juice, chopped parsley and a smidge of crushed garlic. I usually soak it in chicken stock. It`s just the healthiest and the cheapest. Flash fried M C, now that sounds gorgeous.

GQ - now I've tried the wheat cooked I'm going to do Tabbouleh like that instead of just soaking it in water. I like the flavours in the Tabbouleh but that chewy wheat taste always put me off.

A real proper Lebanese tabbouleh has very little bulgur in it anyway - mainly parsley, mint, tomatoes and lemon. Yum!

I agree Jo - I did a recipe given to me by Vambo (Lentils husband) - proper authentic lebonese recipe. I wasnt sure about all the herbs, but I tell you, it was the best tabbouleh ever.
